Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To connect with great people and see what makes the local lifestyle tick.
ABOUT ME
I would describe myself as being a bit of a goofball, a gentle and considerate friend, a respectful houseguest, a mellow and sometimes quiet personality and a generally curious person. I have an equal appreciation for the subtle nuances of the great outdoors and the overwhelming spoils of the modern metropolis.
I'm stoked to learn more about what turns people on about the cities they've chosen to live in, and the pockets of those cities that they've managed to infiltrate and come to understand during their time there.
PHILOSOPHY
There is a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm not quite sure yet. I haven't really used CS as a service, but am about to embark on something of a limbo period in my life. I would like to be able to get to know real people in the places that I wander, and allow them and others to do the same when I find a more permanent home.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Other than crashing in local friends' living rooms at random intervals throughout my adult life, I've never really explored this option as a means to travel to strange and exotic places.
Interests
Spine-tingling and booty-movin music (especially on vinyl), reckless artistic pursuits and madcap creations, cooking and eating spicy food, riding bikes and hiking to beautiful places, juicy historical tales

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourites are all over the board, for all different reasons, always mutating with time. I can't stand new country or most electronica sub-genres; I think Hollywood should kill one out of every three pictures it makes and put that cash into useful causes instead; I wish I read as much as I did when I was a kid...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've interviewed Alice Cooper (on the phone, unfortunately). I've jumped out of a small airplane without being attached to anyone (twice, actually). I managed to graduate from university (in spite of the fact that I had no idea what I was doing there). I've managed to turn out okay.
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to learn how to be better at socializing, and to find new comfort zones within my own personality.
I have worked with the English language professionally for nearly a decade (as a writer and editor), for whatever that's worth.
