About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live simple and prepare for my next adventure!

ABOUT ME

I'm an outdoor enthusiast so I try to be outside and active as much as I can. I moved to Hawaii in 2015 to be closer to the ocean and I'm loving it! Some say this island is small but I think there is still so much for me to do here!

PHILOSOPHY

We all have our own truth. I focus on my ability to make life happier and easier for others and in return my life is happier and easier.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfing when I travel, hosting when I'm Home! :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hitch hiked so couch surfing didn't seem to be too far of a stretch for my comfort zone. Couch surfed in Singapore and it was such a great experience and saved me big time in a pinch! Now it's time for me to return the favor and host other travelers. I've also surfed in Montreal and NYC.

Interests

Rock Climbing, animals/plants/wildlife, ocean kayaking, FOOD, music and the arts, people and culture. I just love to explore!

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh gosh, there are too many. I'm very visual so I love movies unless its a scary movie..., I enjoy all styles of music as long as its not screaming at me, just depends on my mood, and books take a little longer to capture my attention but once I start I can't put it down. Currently I'm reading "The art of happiness" from the Dalai Lama.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was hitchhiking through Malaysia, just outside of Temerloh and the sun was starting to set. A man offered for me to stay with him and his family for the night so I accepted. We got to his place right at sunset but it was just planks of wood raised off the ground with a tarp covering them from the rain, no walls, the rest of the property was mostly jungle. They fed me and then I walked the property just as the call for last prayer could be heard in the distance. We stayed up talking by candle light about their life and mine.

Next experience was a trip to Death Valley National Park with my dad. He had a big telescope and wanted to do some astrophotography. We went to the top of the mountains to Mahogany Flats. During the day you can see all around for great distances but the valley floor is right below you. Then night came and we stayed up gazing at the sky, more stars then I've ever seen in my life!

I've also had a run in with a wild tiger in Taman Negara in Malaysia... awesome, but scariest thing I've every experienced.
