ABOUT ME

I grew up in Holland in a very mixed family. When I was 16 I went to Suriname and Curacao for the first time. I loved it there. I came back to Suriname for 6months in 2007 and came back every year since. Since 2011 I moved to Paramaribo and I have no regret doing it afterwards. I work for the Surinamese Museum Foundation (I worked for them on and off since 2007) in which I currently coordinate a project with French Guiana and Brazil. It's a very various job which includes all kinds of tasks. It's a nice challenge. But I'd always like to meet new people. And I'd like to help wherever I can.

PHILOSOPHY

- The respect for the rights of others is peace.
- A nation who doesn't know it's history doesn't know where it's going (Anton de Kom)

And for me personally: live your life as it is your last day. Never do something you might regret and do everything you want to. I don't want to regret not doing things when I'm older. Try it and if it doesn't work .. move on and try something else!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to participate in CouchSurfing by showing other people the beautiful places of Paramaribo. But also give advice and help with pracitical things.

I have no CouchSurfing experience at the moment .. but am willing to expand!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've climed the St. Cristoffelmountain which is about 325meters high. But it gives a beautiful view of Curacao. During my time in Olinda I've also seen a lot of beautiful places and photographic moments.
