About Me
Heyho,
I'm Erik originally from Erfurt in Germany and currently living in Dresden. I am an outgoing guy studying at university but my main interests lie in other things such as music (I sing in 2 choirs and play various instruments), cooking, climbing and whatever I decided on next or my friends get me to try.
I am quite sociable so my flatmates and friends play a very important role in my life aswell as my family at home.
I am new to solo travel but checking that off the bucket list has been a long time coming.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am not too well travelled though I've visited some amazing cities in europe over the last few years, but never outside of europe so my goal for the time coming is exactly that. I would love to get to know foreign cultures (and cuisines) and meet up with people all over the world and expand my current experiences. CS offers a great opportunity that is also affordable and overall makes for a great concept that I would love to experience further in the future.
Interests
My interest are all over the place and I easily transition from obsession to obsession for short or long periods of time. But my passion for music, books and the arts in general will outlast all of them.
- architecture
- cooking
- board games
- reading
- music
- classical music
- hiking
- volleyball
- astronomy
- history
- nature
- climbing
- dungeons and dragons
Music, Movies, and Books
Classical Music has my heart but I'll listen to almost anything. My liked songs on Spotify are a real mess.
I took an interest in films quite recently and now I am slowly catching up on watching the classics of genres I like.
Buying books and actually reading them are two different hobbies for me and I am excellent at one of them. But lately I find the time to read more again which I am very excited about.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I get the hang of playing new instruments fairly quickly but surprised even myself (and my teacher at that) when I learned to play the bagpipes in a few days to a very passable level even securing a solo in a concert a week later. (I had to be seriously convinced)
