Overview
About Me
I grew up with a fairly nomadic lifestyle, having lived in Betty's Bay, Cape Town, Jo'burg, Phalaborwa, and London. I think this amount of exploration either turns you off travel completely or gets insatiably under your skin - for my family, it has been the latter... and so, soon after I graduated, my dad and I started a travel company that offers a booking service for various accommodation venues that we deemed to be good enough to add to the online guide we created.
This, of course, gave me the opportunity to explore South Africa in far more depth than most casual tourists do, and it has been eye-opening to me to realise just how much detail, both scenic and cultural, this country has to offer.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I feel that South Africa gets misrepresented in international media due to the complexity of our on-the-ground situation, and would love to offer advice and a point of contact for those hard-to-find questions for anyone who is interested in coming down here.
Interests
With the nomadic lifestyle comes a broad palette of interests, and my tastes run through hiking, flyfishing, mountain biking, kayaking, reading (mainly fantasy), gadgets and fun tech, craft beer, wine, finger food, photography, wildlife, and popular science.
