I am an American-Canadian student living in Montreal looking to meet new people, travel the world as much as I can, and more generally to broaden my horizons. I find that one learns a lot more by experiencing new things than they do in the classroom. However, in University I study media and communication as well as English literature; hopefully one day ill find a job ;). Anyways, i could discuss these topics for hours with anyone, ranging from why I think Netflix is the best thing to happen to television to the intersection between linguistics and emojis. Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When it comes to meeting new people I find that we all have more in common than we think, and that we can learn more from each other than we can from ourselves. I’d love to share a pint or a cup of coffee (depending on the time of day), explore nature and anything else!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Jazz, indie pop and indie rock, folk, really lots of variety in my music taste. (Artists like social studies, future islands, la dispute, neutral milk hotel, the lumineers, the National, Alvvays, and much much more)

Movies: I have an obsession with film and I generally like film that makes me think. Some of my favorites include arrival, interstellar, the dark knight, la jetée, Kenneth branagh’s hamlet, captain fantastic, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, Swiss army man, there will be blood, the last Jedi, call me by your name, and more.

I also really love television shows including master of none, arrested development, mindhunter, suits, black mirror, Anthony bourdain parts unknown, house of cards, Brooklyn nine nine, breaking bad, stranger things, the punisher, sense8, etc

Finally, some of my favorite novels include ahab’s wife, a prayer for Owen Meany, Villette, Wuthering Heights, Orlando, and more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Roadtripped the Swedish coast with some wonderful people and sporadically ended up in Oslo - it was an unforgettable dream.
