I'm Erik, 28 years old. From Sweden and recently graduated in January 2017. Studied at Umeå University for 5 years. Have been working at Hostel One Paralelo and Hostel One Ramblas in Barcelona as a helper/content creator for their social media presence. Recently I've been 6 months in Dublin.
I am currently residing in Stockholm.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to meet new people. Couchsurfing is the best option to meet persons and really get to know them. Working at a hostel has shown me how open and incredibly friendly people are to one another. I've learned that people can become best friends instantly and that love at first sight exists. I wonder what else you could learn about life and living by meeting people?

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to pretty much anything. Psychedelic Stoner Rock music is always nice, like Sleep, Wooden Shjips, Dead Meadow, Kadavar or bands such as Tame Impala, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd etc. Here's my playlist on Spotify. It's incredibly mixed and songs get added in the spur of the moment, so don't expect smooth transitions between songs!

I've picked up reading again. I prefer non-fiction. Philosophical, self-helping, factual, biographical work. However I am not hesitant to read fictional books as well. I'd love to get some suggestions!

In terms of movies I do not watch that many movies. I enjoy user-generated content mostly. Niche stuff, and most of that is on YouTube. That or TV-shows, the usual ones, Game of Thrones, Silicon Valley, Rick & Morty. My go to series is always The Office. Seen the whole series many, many times.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lofoten, Norway was pretty amazing. I was there 2014, went there with my friends converted Volkswagen van on a road trip from Umeå, Sweden. Got to watch the northern most surfing competition in the world. A seal joined in after a while. At night there were crazy northern lights.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know HTML & CSS. I don't pursue those skills too often since I like hands on projects, working for others. If you need a web site I can help you out with that. I know Swedish so if you want to get in to that I can teach you some curse words. I have a background as a computer teacher so if anything needs fixing I'd like to think I am pretty handy with tech (I have a black belt in googling solutions).
I'd like to become better at playing the guitar so I'd love to practice more, or just play any instrument in general. It's so much fun playing with someone else.
