Overview
About Me
I fight wildfires in Alaska in the summer and travel much of the winter. I'm most at home being outside and taking in the beauty of the natural world. Most of free time I spend backpacking or in a variety of other outdoor pursuits. Want to learn about as many viewpoints and perspectives as possible. Looking to explore the world and the beautiful people that inhabit it and have as much fun as possible along the way!
Interests
Hiking, rock climbing, backpacking, cheap wine, paragliding, skiing
Music, Movies, and Books
Hemingway, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Hunter Thompson, Edward Abbey, John McPhee, Alexander Solzhenitsyn, Terry Pratchett are some of my favorite authors. I love to get and give recommendations for new reading. I like the authors that push the boundary and make us question our society or way of thinking while conveying a sense of the beauty of the world.
Movies! V for Vendetta, Silver Linings Playbook, Rhustlers Rhapsody, the Prestige, Goodfellas
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I hitchhiked through Patagonia for three months. Got to meet some amazing people along the way and see more natural beauty than I thought existed. Incredible and informed my traveling from then on.
Hiked the Hayduke Trail in the Southwest US, one of the hardest thru hikes out there. 1300 KMs of misery and beauty!
Teach, Learn, Share
My work keeps me outside and I would love to help in your garden or farm. I can use a chainsaw well if you have any need for that.
