About Me
'People say that I'm a loner / I like to get lost in the crowds'
True, I'm not the birthday party type of person, climbing on the bar and telling jokes. Instead, I like to meet people and exchange thoughts one-on-one. About people, literature, psychology. Conversations are great.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have a comfortable apartment, why not share it? I get along well with people and I like to keep up my language skills. The beauty of the city I live I like to share. Don't start your walk in Amsterdam at Central station! Take the station where I live nearby, Amstel. Along the river Amstel boulevard you can stroll so nicely.

Music, Movies, and Books
Turgenev's short stories. Bukowski was great at hitting the right note of being vulnerable and being a tough guy at the same time. The Dutch 'writer for the people' Gerard Reve.
Movie: Lost in translation. (& I have a weak spot for bromance comedies like I love you, man)
TV Series: Breaking bad, that great American tragedy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I am translating the aforementioned Dutch Author Gerard Reve. His 'Faust' is called A circus boy. The archaic language makes translation (into English) a Herculian task! I expect to be granted a Royal decoration at one point! I think by now only ten people have read my translation, but most are fascinated. I'm not an official translator though, so I am still looking for connections.
