About Me

I enjoy living fully everyday, exploring, and laughing. I love being outside a lot and interacting with positive, motivated, stimulating, playful, creative people. I am filled with lots of joy and love and believe that the way a person sees the world affects how the world is experienced.

I travel a lot. I love learning and interacting with people, places, cultures. I love exploring variety of life. I love helping others ~ I have experience studying various transformational methods and spiritual practices incl yoga, meditation, ancient wisdom and healing arts from Russia, Mongolia, China, Tibet, India, harmonious relationship psychologies, art therapy/ drama therapy/ dance and movement therapy practices, juicing/ayurveda/raw foods prep. I love helping generally.

I also love playing, playing music, learning instruments, being in the water, trying new things, being around kids, flying trapeze, doing gymnastics, stretching, surfing, snowboarding, being imaginative and creative. I live science and math - researching, discovering, problem solving. I love measuring and exploring things through microscopes and experimentation. My books are often scattered around me if I'm not being physically active and incl a variety of subjects.

PHILOSOPHY

I embrace moment to moment how I feel, how I want to live, where I want to be present. Helping others experience joy, well being, and satisfaction is my underlying purpose and mission, I learn and gain much from people, animals, nature. I can be very intense. I live for truth, for my connections with people, for the love I feel open to in my daily life, for simplicity and nature. I live with enthusiasm, intensity, calmness, wonder, curiosity, and motivation and I like to share that with others verbally, emotionally, quietly, soulfully.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Offer a place to stay when I'm settled at home and more often it happens in daily life off of the couch surfing app. I appreciate meeting people for cultural and local experiences, language exchange, sharing ideas, knowledge, experience, getting to know the world, beautiful people, and the earth itself.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCES

Most of my friends are people who I have connected with immediately and stayed the night with in various places I've been, actually most of my couchsurfing experience has been local, wherever I'm currently living just getting a new taste, immersion into a new situation, lifestyle, energy to connect with. I have had amazing experiences through the app on my own and in combination with other friend's with profiles in different continents and it is always so great to have friends in new places, to get to know the culture that way, and to share interests. Some of my (and our, with my boyfriend) closest friends are from this app. Year long friendships with people we meet up with a few times a year for several years now or at minimum stay connected in a messaging app. I've met really wonderful people hosting and being hosted and have hosted a few people I was never able to meet but was glad to have them stay with me.

Interests

I love being active and upside down or in the water. Sports, nature, exploring science and the world through microscopes and chemistry. Creating with colors and through theatrical arts. Love plants and stars and learning as I can about them. Playing, being, connecting, exploring. Eating raw, living, wild foods. Building. Projects. Climbing. Tumbling. Learning. Hiking. Moving. Barefoot walking. Reading. Sharing. Experiencing. Laughing. Expressing. Feeling. Swimming. Stretching. Teaching. Listening. Observing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am pretty open and my tastes are wide and varied.....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked alone for about 10 miles on the top of a mountain in Alaska when there was 4 feet of snow, bears were waking up hungry, and it was primarily dark. I was told it would be 2-3 miles, the snow was melted, wouldn't need a coat or water (i had my coat) and that I had 2 hours to hike until my friend would pick me up at the trails end after finishing work (ended up being much later and getting taken by a ranger who was there checking the parking lot at the end of the day to a warm place to make calls). Phew. It was a long journey and a great story in the end!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn, teach, share, encourage, be encouraged, and inspire. I'm always learning about life and people, trying new things, slipping into different "scenes" and being a part of what's going on without any expectations. My educational background is in neuroscience, arts therapies, and personalized education (undergraduate) and some graduate education (I never finished the degree I went to Siberia instead) in mythology and depth psychology. I love researching and learning formally and informally about all of my other interests, passions. I love sharing in play (I enjoy playing unicorns and trucks with kids for instance as well as board games with adults or pulling out movement equipment for gymnastics like beams and just being silly in general) , sharing art time and supplies, making food and tea together, singing together when possible, learning new things together.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories, laughs, smiles, hugs, friendliness, love learning and practicing languages and contagious exploration of life through sports, nature, science, arts, art supplies, and more depending on timing and location.
