About Me
Hi, welcome to my page.
I have lived in Japan and UK all my life, they are both fantastic places to be and have shaped who I am now. Over the past 12 years in the UK I have lived in London, Edinburgh, Kent, and now Exeter. I love cycling, reading, walking, driving (not so much the passenger of the car... motion sickness is a bummer), and some easy hiking.
I am currently a chef with some side gig of teaching cookie decorating.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
A while back I've only used couch surfing site mostly for event meet ups, but now I want to do some travelling as this site is intended for.
My primary long term goal is to become self sufficient. Learning about someone with different experiences and lifestyle is fascinating and helps me see the world in a different light. I hope to learn something about you; culture, food, or anything that fascinates you!

Music, Movies, and Books
Watching the English: "I thought my English husband/wife must be mentally ill,but now I realise he/she is just being English!"
Never Split The Difference: You know, just in case I need to negotiate out of a hostage situation...
Beer In The Snooker Club: "We English never break the law, it's so malleable in our capable hands."
Daemon: Murder hummer!
Why Nations Fail: I liked this bird-eye view explanation for the failure of late-stage Capitalism. Our economic doom is fate.
Harry Potter: Solid imaginative descriptions
Northern Lights by Phillip Pullman: Spirit animals and adventure
Fantasy books: pretty much my escapism
Books that are written well but personally annoy me (spoilers):
A wizard of Earth Sea: Cool end, but I'm still annoyed you killed the dragons.
Like Water For Chocolate: Passionate sexy time. human combustion.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Made tea properly
