Nathaniel and I grew up on a small island in the pacific north west coast of the States. Currently we are living in Portland where I work as a Family Therapist and Nathaniel work in the Wine industry as well as a wood worker. We host travelers in our home in Portland and love meeting new people and learning about others experiences. We are passionate about nature, agriculture, sustainable living, good food, learning, building, creating, traveling, music, art, history...and much more! We pride ourselves on being good hosts as well as good guests. We take pride in being considerate, helpful, fun, curious and overall good company. We enjoy being with others but are also quite happy on our own.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are taking a long trip on money we have worked hard to put away and we are trying to make it stretch to the limit! We also very much enjoy meeting locals and engaging in a sharing community, where learning and experiences are valued.

Interests

We are passionate about sustainable living and plan to have our own farm some day. I enjoy painting, art and almost any craft you can think of. As a therapist I am also interesting in the wellbeing of people and communities. Nathaniel spends his time woodworking, playing guitar or drums, and doing photography. We both enjoy the outdoors, being active, learning new things, good food, animals, reading and laughing.

Music, Movies, and Books

We typically gravitate towards comedies, British comedies/humor in specific. We enjoy shows such as IT crowd, faulty towers, black adder, and black books. We also enjoy BBC period classics such as Cranford, and Larkrise to Candleford. Nathanael's favorite movie is Army of Darkness and his favorite book is Name of the Wind. My favorite movie is My Neighbor Totoro and my favorite book is Fin Family Moomintroll. We also gravitate towards fantasy/scifi related books/movies/shows such as firefly, Harry Potter, and LOTR.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is a difficult question because I can't think of anything we have done that is really that unique. However, we did go skydiving in matching gold body suits a while ago, and that was quite exhilarating.
