CURRENT MISSION
Explore and meet people with curious minds and open hearts.
ABOUT ME
After I finished my master's in the US I decided I did not want to settle into a job; I wanted to travel, live in a different country, and meet new people. So now I am living in Germany. I only wanted to stay one year, but I met great friends, found a job, love the ease of traveling around Europe, so I'm still in Germany 6 years later. I still say it's my last year, but we'll see!
I really want to see the world and meet the people that make these places so wonderful and interesting. I want to see the alternative side to a city. I want street art, local bars, punk/rock music, local concerts, artists, liberals, flea markets/marketplaces, and great food. The best way to experience these things is with a local.
I love trying new things, especially when it comes to food! Although I am not eating meat, I am always up for checking out local dishes while traveling. Nothing makes me smile more than a cat. I like looking for hearts in random places, like in the sidewalk or soup. Nutella is best eaten with a spoon. I started guitar lessons at 28, and I'm loving it.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: the Clash, the Misfits, , the Cure, the Smiths, the Dresden Dolls to name a few. Punk/rock music. I love live music and local concerts.
Books: I read lots of things; I especially like dystopian novels. Crime novels only on personal recommendation.
Movies: I go to the local independent cinemas almost every week. Horror, thrillers, crime, comedies, not so much romance, but always in the original language (with subtitles if needed).
I love Doctor Who and Arrested Development.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Moved to a new country without knowing anyone.
My first hitch-hiking trip. I hitch-hiked with a friend from Krakow, Poland to Tallinn, Estonia. Now I'm hooked.
Driving through Bosnia was also a great experience. So beautiful.
Attended an Indian wedding in India.
Visited Chernobyl.
Survived my first camping/hiking trip. 3 weeks in Norway.
Teach, Learn, Share
Meeting other hitchhikers always makes me smile.
I would love to learn origami.
I find it difficult but I would really love to learn more languages. So teach me some words or phrases!
I really love learning about different cultures so I love hearing stories about people's travels and experiences in life.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I don't think I'm good at many things, but I'm a good listener.
I could help, of course, with English and German.
