We're a couple who left our home in Melbourne to cycle across the US in June 2018. We are now heading to Portugal and planning to cycle from Europe to Asia.

We both previously had great experiences couchsurfing while on our own trips and hosted couchsurfers in our home in Melbourne. We enjoy the social aspects of couchsurfing while traveling, and a chance to connect with people to learn more about the places we visit.

We met on couchsurfing! We both have hosted and have stayed with a number of hosts in Europe and the Middle East.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It's really an amazing place to meet like-minded people from all over the world. After couchsurfing, it's really hard to think about travel without it being part of the experience whether it's staying with hosts or going to couchsurfing meetups and events. Really an awesome concept.

While on our bicycle tour we are also stopping to work at farms to gain experience with working with animals and learn more about organic gardening, permaculture, and community living.

Erika - Completed my first solo cycling journey 1000k across the 3 Baltic countries. It was amazing, challenging, rewarding, lonely at times, but worth the sweat and constant leg burn.

Dan - Backpacked around Iran on my own, and experienced the amazing hospitality of the Iranian people.
