I have a penchant for the curious and the nonsensical. I've always been fascinated with space, cheese, traveling, and learning about the different cultures that make up this planet. I strive to live creatively and with quirky imagination.

I lived in Indiana for the majority of my life before moving to Arizona to complete my student teaching experience on the Navajo Nation. The culture there was eye-opening and so absolutely beautiful. It changed my perspective about every aspect of the life and society I grew up in. After spending four months on the Reservation, I continued my trip west where I settled in Los Angeles with my boyfriend Kyle. Currently, we live in a studio apartment in Koreatown. It's a tiny apartment with two rampant cats, but it's homey. We have a couch you can sleep on that's literally like six feet from us haha, sorry! It's a studio. But we have curtains that block off our "bedroom." I have a pretty good knowledge of Los Angeles and would love to hang out if I'm free! I'm usually open on the weekends!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To put it simply, I love to meet people, all people. I'm hoping to make connections and build positive friendships with people from all over the world through Couchsurfing. I believe in kindness and always helping others out. So if you need a place to stay, I got you. I'm also wanting to do some long-term traveling in the next couple years so it would be great to rely on Couchsurfing to help with my own traveling.

Interests

I play the ukulele and love to sing. I'm also always up for hiking or camping (I've trained my cat to go hiking. She did pretty well). I love to do anything where I can be outside and in nature. Eating delicious ethnic foods, going to museums, everything space-related, and the show Adventure Time are some other passions.

Andrew Bird is my favorite musician. I also love St. Vincent, Vampire Weekend, Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon album, Neutral Milk Hotel, Fleetwood Mac, Beirut. I also like classical and old timey music that a fun grandpa would play.

Teach, Learn, Share

Learning is life. You can do anything you want to do if you learn how. I also think it's important to question everything, from societal expectations and influences to why young children pronounce the word spaghetti like bisgetti. There's an obvious S sound at the beginning! But anyway, question everything with an open mind.
