About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn as I go with an open mind

ABOUT ME

Living back in London after having spent a year in Toronto. Feel like I've changed and grown (I hope) in the last few years particularly, and ready for even more to happen over the years to come.

Am working for a children's charity at the moment, but definitely looking into what I want to venture into next. Some things that I'm considering are genetic counseling, air hostess, moving to Australia to year or saving to do some more travelling. So as you might be able to tell I'm very indecisive but open to opportunities that arise.

I'm a pretty easy going and friendly person I like to think. Non judgemental, enjoy going out dancing, listening to live music, exploring places, watching a good movie or having a nice chat and a laugh. Enjoy meeting new people and tend to keep myself very busy.

PHILOSOPHY

Baz Luhrmann's 'Everybody's Free (To Wear Sun Screen).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far my main participation has been getting involved with the local community where ever I am. This started off when I moved to Toronto, and I've made some really good friends through making these seemingly random connections with people in random places!

Now that I'm back home in London am looking to see if it might be possible to start hosting down the line soon. Am also making sure to keep on passing on the word and making sure people know about it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've never hosted (as mentioned above) but have surfed a couple of times. My third time was kind of random, originally got turned down but got to know some CSers and was offered a place for the last few days. And my last time was actually just a friend I knew in Vancouver, whom I only later realised was a couch surfer, so that kinda counts right?!

As I've said, I'd like to try to start hosting sometime soon, and would love to build up on the surfing experiences too!

Interests

documentaries (watching, making, learning about), catching up and hanging out with friends, long walks, dancing, pilates and sometimes gym attempts, choir stylee singing (as in taking part, although listening is nice to), movies (usually with a happy ending), human geography, tea, sale shopping, bargain hunting, trying to learn guitar. Standard really.

Music, Movies, and Books

Little Women (book and movie), Harry Potter (books!), LOTRs, Donnie Darko, Australia, Ender's Game, Presopolis (so far only read the book but want to watch the movie too), Run Fatboy Run, Once, Devotion hmm, and many more which I cant think of at the moment...

Just got into The Wire, a gripping police/drugs ring series which is just amazing!

In terms of music like a bit of almost everything, and hate having to try to pin down specifics! Love dancing to cheesy and old school stuff. A couple of artists that come to mind when I think of music I like are Beyonce, Mumford and Sons, Adele, Fitz and the Tantrums, etc etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Some amazing yet slightly surreal things I've had the unbelievable opportunity to do;

Fishing in Alaska when the salmon were swimming upstream, zip lining above the cloud forest in Monteverde, Costa Rica, and snorkelling off the coast of Mahahaul in Mexico and camping in Tulum, Mexico on the most beautiful beach I've ever been to.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Slovakia, South Korea, Switzerland, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Austria, Ireland, Slovenia, United Kingdom
