About Me

Hi. I'm a 31 year old high school teacher from Brisbane, Australia. When I travel I like to travel for people and culture. Learning about other people's culture is truly fascinating to me. I'd like to think of myself as laid back and pretty open minded. I love trying new things and challenging myself.

In January, I finished an adventure around India and Nepal. I travelled to India in 2010 and spent a great deal of time in schools and knowing that I wanted to return some day, I came back! I am quite passionate about social justice and education. I chose to travel to Nepal because I've always wanted to trek Mt Everest, it's sort of a bucket list item.

Fast forward to the present and I'm now living and working in Mumbai as a teacher. Looking to make new friends along the way.

I love to dance, sing and enjoy a beer or two.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I sort of fell into this. I was out in Mumbai alone one night when a bunch of couch surfers approached me and asked if I'd join them, the rest is history I guess.

My trip in India wouldn't have been the same if it wasn't for couch surfing. I have made so many amazing friends who have given me invaluable memories of my time abroad.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all sorts of music but in particular, I love rap and hip-hop. I also love world music (especially bollywood), soul and R&B and even some new wave/alternative music.

I have many favourite books and movies so I find this question hard to articulate. My favourite book of all time is called 'Holy Cow' by Sarah MacDonald. This novel follows Sarah around India as she endeavours to learn as much about the culture and religions of Indians.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my most amazing experiences is living with a family in their home in a remote mountain village in Timor Leste. The conditions were basic and we struggled to communicate but living the day to day life with the family was truly amazing. I felt incredibly humbled and honoured to be welcomed into their home.

What I Can Share with Hosts
