Overview
About Me
I am a writer and love poetry and nonfiction. I am a musician and play drums and ukulele, not so good at guitar but sometimes I magically play it well. I'll make you laugh. I'll talk philosophy with you if that's what you're into. Also willing to play music or look at your stamp collection. I am very adaptable.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couch surfing because I have a sudden unrelenting desire for adventure, meeting new people, learning new things, and traveling as I have not done much traveling in the past.

Music, Movies, and Books
I let spotify do its thing when I like stuff. I don't catalog or reference artists much I just vibe to vibey songs. Fav books is a loaded question too. Am not a movie buff but love a good series.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing thing I've done recently: started writing my poems on an old typewriter.
One amazing thing I've done in life: figuring out what to do when my dad had a stroke and couldn't take care of himself anymore.
Teach, Learn, Share
I currently teach writing classes in the English Department at USF. I study health communication, aging, death and dying, identity, gender, and language (philosophy comes into play often with these topics). I am also interested in cybernetics/systems theory. I've taught public speaking for years and learned a lot of excellent writing strategies I could share (nonfiction and poetry) while working on my PhD. I've also taught group communication, communication theory, interpersonal communication, gender & identity, and have published articles about prison education and why it's important to stop running over bicyclists and pedestrians; yes, I have solutions.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share conversation, information, poetry, prose, a happy time, whatever works. I adapt easily to others and my surroundings.
