I was bit by the travel bug in 2013 when I studied abroad in Costa Rica. It was the first time I had been out of the country and fueled a desire to travel that has influenced every aspect of my life. I love meeting people, grabbing drinks with strangers, and have never met anyone I could not hold a conversation with. I am a major beach bum and tend to travel to destinations known for their beaches, but am definitely trying to branch out from the allure of the ocean. I love trying new foods, adhering (mostly) to the rule that you need to try everything at least once, so please- tell me what local dish is a must-try! My favorite part of traveling is meeting new people. Some of my absolute favorite memories are nights spent with people I had just met at the hostel a few hours before. I definitely have an up-for-anything personality, and never know exactly where a day or night will take me!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am looking to learn more about people's local cultures. I love staying in hostels, but sometimes you lose out on the local experience in exchange for a more touristy one. When I studied abroad I stayed with a local family, which allowed me to see how people really lived in Costa Rica, not just how the tourism industry is. I believe that lives can be enriched by understanding how others live, and believe that Couchsurfing is one of the best ways to do that. Right now I unfortunately am unable to host people because of my living situation, but I hope to be able to in the future. Whether it is abroad, or while I am home in Massachusetts, I am always down to hang out, grab a drink, go explore, whatever, so feel free to reach out!

-Drove across the US for 3 weeks with my dad
-Skydiving on my 18th birthday
-Filmed a scene for a movie with Christian Bale and Amy Adams, only to have the scene cut
- sleeping on a beach in Thailand
-Providing medical care to sea turtles at a marine life rehab center in Costa Rica
