About Me

We are both very passionate people who seek out the most adventure possible in this tiny slice of life we're given. 100 years isn't enough for 10 lifetimes, much less one, and every step we take is in pursuit of experiencing it.

Our children are grown for the most part, off to college or working, and we're finally at a point (even in our young ages of 38 and 45) where we're free to explore the world around us. Empty nest syndrome has kicked in, and we're finding it impossible to go to work and sit behind a computer every day!

We both love exploring new ways of life, and are definitely not stuck in our ways (though Erin will always need a cup of coffee in the morning before forming thoughts). We're spontaneous, and always on the lookout for newness, doing something we've never done before, even if it's something we're afraid of. Especially if.

Somehow we found each other.

We are sailors. We bought a sailboat in 2012 after sailing once, taught ourselves how to sail, and haven't looked back. We are also bikers, proud members of Bikers Against Child Abuse.

In many ways, we are polar opposites. We come from very different places, but somehow walk the same path in harmony. Erin is sarcastic and fiery, Jack is tempered and thoughtful. We balance.

A ship is safe in the harbor, but that's not what ships are for.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW WE PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We look at couchsurfing as a way to meet new people, but we're usually so busy exploring, we're gone most of the time anyway. If you're up for it, please tag along! Show us the ins and outs of your city, or just have a glass of wine with us at the end of the day. :)

We are very low maintenance, and what little we require we take care of ourselves. Adventure is our goal, and we usually know where to find it!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've housed a few couchsurfers, and had wonderful experiences all around. We hope to be using this site for surfing in the near future (sorry in advance for the short notice, it's how we roll sometimes! :)
