About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To beat boring with an adventure stick!
ABOUT ME
I am traveling a lot in 2013, so if you contact me and I don't respond, that's probably why. CS wishlist: a calendar where you can indicate your best and worst dates and times for hosting.
It is, rarely, possible for me to admit that someone is smarter than I am...objectively speaking. But smarter and with more adroit repartee, I just don't know about that.
I am really good at enjoying myself and others, challenging people I love to grow, miscellaneous home repair, taking charge of a dinner check in a tipsy group, hanging out with kids and babies, listening, generating incontinence in others with my quippy one-liners, rejecting Jesus' attempts to get involved in my life, leaving you guessing.
PHILOSOPHY
Individualism is an absurd concept that is the deepest flaw in the modern American psyche.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like sarcastic humor in all its forms, and am pretty eclectic about what I consume of cultural offerings. I like old movies. Sassy female leads (Mae West, Bette Davis, Barbara Stanwyck, Katherine Hepburn, Emma Thompson, Uma Thurman, Parker Posey, Julianne Moore). Subtitles. Subtleties. Stellar writing and/or direction. The documentary format. NPR and PRI.
What else? I read widely, but the books I have enjoyed don't define my tastes. Except maybe the Sedaris'.
Musically, funk grabs my attention. I lean to the (lyrically conscious) hip-hop, reggae and jazz options, with a little folk and soul for flavor. I tend to prefer to have my music with a dash of politics. However, I don't really like rock or punk or anything with loud drums and guitar solos, tho. If the cupid shuffle is on, I'll be holding it down, and watch out for my wobble.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I hiked into the Grand Canyon in March 2013, next stop Yosemite in the Fall.
Teach, Learn, Share
Breath is the vehicle that transports awareness from one moment to the next. I want to learn more of almost everything.
