Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am rarely home and often visiting family, friends, and new places. When I eventually settle in my own space, I would love to host travelers, but for now I have to depend on the hospitality of others while I move around.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Friends back home in Pennsylvania were couchsurfing hosts and I really enjoyed the community aspect of bringing someone into your home and showing them around town, or simply providing them with a comfortable place to sleep.
My boyfriend and I host AirBnB guests in New Orleans and it provides a similar feeling of community.
Interests
When I'm not working I like to visit friends and family spread out around the country, and stay in national and state parks along the way. I enjoy hiking, kayaking, road-tripping, snorkeling, museums, brew pubs, and any other local attractions available wherever I may be.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Road a motorbike from Thakhek, Laos to Kong Lor Cave, where we were boated though the cave system, then drove the bike down to Savannakhet. There, my campanion and I were caught in a flash flood at the beginning of the rainy season in Phou Xang He National Bio-Diversity Conservation Area, and took shelter while we ate our dehydrated goat-meat bracelets. Later that night, we went to a Casino in town popular with the Thai tourists, and then had noodles at a nearby Karaoke Bar. I would have sang, but they only had one song in English by Brittany Spears and I didn't know it.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a Master of Science in an Engineering field and a Bachelor of Science in Geology, but what I truly enjoy learning about lies in the realms of horticulture, mycology, and botany. I can cook, and love learning new recipes from friends around the world.
