ABOUT ME

I'm a newspaper reporter who has hosted in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at my house, but I'm living in New York for the 2015-2016 year. I have enjoyed using CS to connect with people from different cities and different cultures. I enjoy being active - hiking, biking, yoga and ultimate frisbee for example - and I also like discussing world events and news.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I enjoy hosting in Milwaukee, but I am living in New York City until at least June 1, 2016 for a fellowship, so I am not hosting for most of 2016.

Just about all my experiences hosting and surfing have been positive.

Interests

In addition to loving news and politics and international perspectives on both, I also swing and salsa dance, enjoy getting involved in the community and like to drink fancy wine and beer. I walk a lot and also like to hike when I have the time. I love to cook and host friends for dinner. I get along best with surfers who are curious and good conversationalists.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Tango dancing for the first time at a milonga in Buenos Aires. Swimming in the shadow of waterfalls at Iguazu Falls. Competing around the U.S. as a junior rider in hunter/jumper shows. Spending a month in northern Italy with Rotary International. Covering Hurricane Katrina as a reporter on assignment. Writing about President Barack Obama. Seeing the northern lights in Iceland.
