ABOUT ME
Hi there! I just finished up studying clinical mental health counseling in Wisconsin and now I live in Chicago with my partner. I love big cities as well as small towns. Walking is my favorite way to see a new place, but I'm into biking, public transit (yep, I'm weird like that), and road trips in cars too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Let's be honest. I am an introvert. I like people - a lot - but I tend to feel overwhelmed in big party/freestyle conversation settings. I love me an organized/structured activity like board games, ping pong, truth or dare, Dance Dance Revolution (is that still a thing?), theater, films, etc. to ease some of the awkwardness of me having to come up with my own stuff to talk about. If you're cool with that, we will be fast friends. I couchsurf because finding people who are "cool with that" is the best thing ever and exploring a new city while I'm making new friends is the second best thing ever. Oh yeah, and while we're being honest, hotels can get expensive.
Interests
I love zines, basement shows, and DIY culture. I love nature. I like independent music and arts and crafts. I'm pretty liberal but mostly too polite to bring it up in conversation unless you say it first. Graphic novels and comix are great. Indie films til I die but also mindless comedies and romcoms.

Music, Movies, and Books
Recently my commute time bumped up to ~50 minutes and I find myself really digging podcasts - especially ones that celebrate feminism. Right now I'm liking Women of the Hour, The Babysitters Club Club, Code Switch, Terrible, Thanks for Asking, This American Life, Slumber Party, and Dinner Party Download. Yeeha, that seems like a lot.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was cast in the role of God for a church musical when I was in 5th grade!
I was in City Year (an AmeriCorps program) Miami, Chicago, and Milwaukee.
