ABOUT ME
i (am): [profile-fatigued! lol] friendly, honest (no poker face!), both naive & skeptical, generally straight-forward (cuz i'm not psychic and i don't take hints, so i need people to be straight-forward with me, too), make good cookies once in a great while, like to try new things, ovo-lacto vegetarian, animal lover, low-maintenance, drama-intolerant, shy/quiet except when i'm not hahha, impulsive on occasion, patient until i'm not, a procrastinator, not religious, but still feel very blessed with the wonderful family & friends & opportunities i've been given in life, believe in the 'pay-it-forward' philosophy~~
PHILOSOPHY
try to remember the golden rule, to treat others the way i'd like to be treated. pay it forward. laugh alot. smile alot. accentuate the positive (one of my favorite songs, too!)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Mostly through CS events. Now that I have my own place, I may start hosting, too .
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
i met/made several new friends at Joshua Tree Music Festival in Joshua Tree, California in May 2012, and while at the weekend festival an amazing couch-surfer Charles invited us to his home for a delicious breakfast, then took us to the local hotsprings, then gave us a tour of local landmarks, and then invited us back to watch the eclipse that evening! he was the epitome of a great host!
I since have met so many wonderful people through Couch Surfing events that are now good friends.
Interests
i love: a good story, the color red, seeing new places, trying new foods, making new friends, getting enough sleep, walking/strolling/eeeasy hiking, camping, stopping and smelling the flowers, stand-up comedy, animals in general (cats & dogs in particular), independent &/or non-U.S. movies, laughing til my sides ache, singing, reading (mostly fiction, Piers Anthony, Mark Twain, John Irving, Amy Tan, ... i need to read more--been watching too much tv lately!!), energy efficiency and renewable energy and environment-improving things...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
--in Pai, Thailand, 3 volunteer guides/companions who happened to be dogs showed me the way to the waterfall i wanted to see, stayed with me when i got there, and escorted me back when i was done--they were amazing!
--in Jakarta, Indonesia, i went for a walk one night and got lost. i found some kind police officers who drove me across town to an internet cafe to look up the address of my friend's aunt's house, then drove me back to her doorstep. i didn't speak their language and they didn't speak mine, but smiles, laughter, body language, and their kind hearts were all i needed! :D
--in Seoul, South Korea, i was moving (via subway) from my old apartment to my new one, and a woman on the subway thought i was carrying too much stuff, so she told a man on the subway (who didn't know her, either) to help me, and he did--he carried the heavy stuff for me through the subway station, to a cab, then to my doorstep! i was blessed many times by the kindness of strangers while i was in korea, often when we couldn't speak eachother's language
