CURRENT MISSION
drink too much tea, and laugh a bit also
ABOUT ME
Ah, how very intimidating.
A whole large empty white box to wax eloquent words about myself. (and impress and amuse potential friends)
I'm Erin, 19 and living at home in Melbourne. (ps, I´m travelling gloriously at the moment, however) I have a large and raucous household, with parents, loud sisters, dog and two guineapigs. (but the guineapigs are not great contributors to the noise)
My room exists in a constant state of pigsty, despite any half attempts to clean it. as of right now, i am surrounded by four empty coffee/hot chocolate/tea mugs, all of which are staring disapprovingly at me. "Take us to the dishwasher".
I'm studying, with little idea of a career for the future. My media degree is interesting (mostly), and I'm picking up (da skillz dat killz), but I'm still waiting for that big epiphany on where it may take me. No rush, I suppose, am but young.
I love listening to music, but unfortunately (for myself) my music-playing skills do not extend past my two year grapple with cello in Grade 5 and 6. It is never too late: my dad recently took us piano with hopes of becoming a grand pianist (joke), so I may yet learn an instrument. I'd love to. I'm big into Australian music (but not hip-hop), and spend a great deal of my moolah on concerts. Live music is just amazing; absolutely exhilarating.
In my youth I was a bookworm of centipedal proportions, but year 12 (last year of school) strangled off my literary enthuse. However, at uni I am doing literature and philosophy (to increase my obnoxiousness scale), and now have resumed reading and learning about the world. (My philosophy lecturer was a pirate. With an Irish accent. Who read off scripted jokes in lectures.)
This is turning into a long and irrelevant ramble. But, perhaps, you may be learning 'all about me' nevertheless, as this is what this white box requires.
PHILOSOPHY
What would be most appropriate in this box would be to spout something deeply wise and poignant, but amusing as well.
Don't think I can pull that off so well.
(But seriously:)
I like to live life with a positive outlook: life is exciting and fun, this is good! If something's shit, it will get better. (And the getting-rid-of-shitness process is catalysed by dark chocolate). Things probably happen for a reason.
I'm also a relaxed kid. Calm down, take a breath. It's okay, it's alright. Relax: it's probably not worth fighting about.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've never participated in CouchSurfing before, but I stumbled across the website on my Facebook livefeed, and was enchanted by the concept.
Friendly people!? All over the world?!
Crazy crazy.
It looks amazing, and I'd be keen to meet people in Melbourne for a coffee etc, as long as you were not too on-the-paedophile-side-of-things inclined. Hehee.
I'm going travelling in Europe from November '11 to Feb '12, and I'm so excited and so keen: and I think it would be lovely to meet new people and make new friends whilst on my sojourn.
兴趣
I feel as this is just an extension of my long-winded 'about me' section, but, I shall reiterate.
I like coffee. And dark chocolate.
And listening to music on public transport.
I like my dog and my guineapigs.
I like my friends, and laughing and joking and eating (with) them.
I like long walks on the beach at twilight. (This is a joke)
I like Hugh Grant.
I like (500) Days of Summer.
I like op-shopping, but not 'vintage'. (The concept of vintage frustrates me)
I like avocado sushi, and going out for breakfast.
I like listening to rain on my roof (and wondering if my ceiling is going to start dripping water)
I like Madmen and Dexter and Skins.
I like English accents on pretty boys.
I like photographs.
And i like, also, watching sport. Cricket and rugby and footy. Bringing out my inner boy.
And many more things that do not strike me at this particular moment.

音乐、电影和书籍
I like a bit of 'Indie' music. (Although the genre extends past definition). At the moment, I'm big into Gotye and Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, James Blake, the Weeknd, Bon Iver. Much music for all.
Movies: I work at the movies, so I'm subjected to films of all calibre. I like my off-beat romantic comedies ((500) Days of Summer, Submarine, Love Actually (not so offbeat, but Hugh Grant!), and like a bit of drama in my life sometimes. I studied the Matrix at school a few years back, and thus have it ingrained in my brain for eternity: "There is no spoon"
Books: whatever comes. I'm not much of a fiction reader, to be fair, but I'll read some novels, and some trashy stuff occasionally, for easy reading. Love my Harry Potter (I have a Deathly Hallows necklace)
