About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm a fun-loving yet practical traveler, new-found scuba addict, foodie, bibliophile, geeky ex-techie, extrovert, burner. I'm reveling in the life of a nomadic adventurer currently. I left my job and home in San Francisco in early 2013 and began an epic trip in Central America. After six months, I couldn't get enough of travel so did some more road tripping in the states, a stint of living in my hometown of Seattle, now living in Australia for a year!

I write a travel blog that I welcome you to check out and see what kind of traveler/person I am: www.ladyasatramp.com

PHILOSOPHY

Fun needs to be moved up on everyone's priority list. That thing that is preventing you from being happy? Whatever it is, let it go.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a beginning surfer so am looking to meet people and get started in this community.

I'm a very chill, easygoing, happy houseguest. I am able to take care of myself as need be and am very conscience/respectful of a home's culture/boundaries/etc.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am brand new to couchsurfing and looking forward to meeting new people along the way. When I travel in the US I do very often stay with friends and find it the best way to connect with them.

Interests

Exploring new things/places/people! I've traveled in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, the United States, and Central America and can't wait to continue broadening my horizons. I love getting to know new friends and learning from them, trying new foods, experimenting in the kitchen, taking myself to the movies (preferably a classic one with a dashing male lead), walks, pub games, experiencing funky live music and art, writing, better considering my words and speaking with purpose, and picking up local rituals of fun.

Music, Movies, and Books

So many... I love interesting music of all kinds, adore classic movies, and have a weakness for sci-fi/fantasy novels. But always with an open mind to learn and try new things; I love getting recommendations from others on books, movies, and music to check out.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my most recent awe-inspiring experience was swimming with whale sharks (the biggest fish in the sea) in Mexico. They were so immense and spectacularly chill; it was breathtaking to be within feet of such a magnificent water beast. Everyone should add this to their bucket list.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to make a brilliant poached egg. :-) And am always delighted to swap travel stories.
