ABOUT ME
I'm a gal that's up for many different things. There are times that I feel suffocated by where I live, and this website has really inspired me to go further with my desire to go new places and meet new people.
PHILOSOPHY
be the change you want to see in the world
sometimes this gets me in trouble though. I'm a bit opinionated. unfortunately, I'm not very eloquent.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I offer my futon to fellow travelers! I have CouchSurfed a couple times now and really enjoyed it!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
so far so good. Who will want to stay in springfield, mo? I'm curious... maybe nobody? maybe somebody? I keep receiving requests, but then they never actually come. Why is this? I get all excited about hosting, and then I feel all letdown.
Who will let a Springfield gal stay with them when the time comes? So far, a couple of people, and it has been a lovely experience!
Interests
music:I'm in a local folky band that I play cello in. Languages: I've studied Japanese since I was 14. Traveling: I spend all my free money on it. mostly here in North America, but I've been to Korea, Taiwan, and Japan too! Addition: I went on a 5 week backpacking trip to UK, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, and Italy a month ago. best trip ever
Video Games: I love my Wii and DS!
Outdoors:I love playing sports and doing active things. I want to do some more serious hiking and backpacking some day.

Music, Movies, and Books
I mostly like movies that make me think a bit, may have some humor, may have some emotional stuff in it..
I love Philip K. Dick, Jane Austen, J.D. Salinger... and some fun pulpy stuff too of course!
Music... i love folky music.. but usually with a modern twist. Fishtank Ensemble, Beirut, Joanna Newsom, etc come to mind.
I like lots of other stuff too though, of course.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In Taiwan, at Taroko National Park, we were swimming in a stream that was wayyyy down at the bottom of some huge cliffs when a sudden storm blew in. We rushed to our car and headed out, but boulders were falling down all around us and the rain was coming down so hard we could barely see...
Very terrifying.. but, pretty amazing
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you a little bit of the cello or Japanese if you stay with me.. if you want, of course. Unfortunately, I can't teach cello if I'm the couch surfer though, as it is a little difficult to travel with.
