ABOUT ME

Hey!! What's up!

I'm Massimiliano, but everybody calls me Massi, a short version of my name seems to stick better when you need to recall it :)
Energetic mostly I like to be in movement, always exploring new places if I can, while travelling and trying food, talking to people and fallen in love with the nature. I like dancing and some times is a good way to spend an evening with friends but I wouldn't say I'm a party guy.
I’m always happy to spend time talking with people about their experiences and stories, sitting in front a cup of tea or a beer. I like also the silence and being just in presence of each others minding our own business is also something I appreciate. I feel a citizen of the world and I try to be tolerant every day more as I’m here to share not only my time but also my kindness with others, as far as we respect each other.
I love run and I guess to be a sporty person and travel for me most of the time means exploring or at least moving.

PHILOSOPHY

- Work on things I like with the curiosity of a child!
- Be grateful is the best nutrition I can give myself without getting full.
- To be what I want I need to prove myself I'm capable of it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Meeting, hosting and visiting - depending on my availability. At the moment I don't have enough space to host, but I'm always ready to meet new traveller to get around the city.

I like meeting people coming from other places and showing them around, let them trying new food, let them visiting nice places and sharing my experiences and knowledge about a places with them.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted not that much people in my apartment but quite a few. I cannot define myself a professional host, but still that's why I'm here!

As a traveller I have visit lots of Hosts that opened the door of their houses. Lots of great experiences, some of them really funny. I'm still today looking forward to visit other places and meeting new amazing people.

Intereses

A big part of my life turn around sport and movement: it can be running, dancing, practicing martial arts, I'm always very happy when I can sharp the master of myself through the body. That's an important aspect of my personality, maybe the most important.

As I've lived abroad almost ten years of my life, languages became a big part of my life. I like both in terms of can express myself in a different languages and learning a different way of thinkin and see the world through the lens of another culture.

While travelling and so meeting new cultures, places, making new experiences and discovering a broader view of the world, I feel the need to share those experiences with others and in this way I start to write and letting know people through my point of view the world I see during my trips.
As well personal journalism is for me a great tool I'm using for processing thoughts and wounds of my personality.

When I started as a child I was not that much succesful in music and still I wouldn't say I'm a natural born musician, nevertheless I enjoy so bad learning a new instrument (right now turkish bağlama and darbuka), composing new song with the guitar and singing (that's maybe the thing I love the most between them), so I maybe a day going out the street and make a little concert by my own offering to people a good sounds for their body, mind and soul.

I'm a gipsy in my soul and living in contact with nature is vital in my life-style and so everything that is interconnected to nature and agriculture, like cultivating herbs, growing plants and trees, as well as raise a cattle. That's in an house in the countryside where I see spending the mature time of my life.

A way to relax myself, empty my mind and think deep in a matter is as well drawing, although I find very little time for it, is something positive in my life that I hope to can improve. Lastly I concentrate myself on how representing on paper my project can help me clearer figure them out.

I like to believe I choose to born in Italy because of the food we have, having said that I'm a foodie and after a past militating behind the vegan and vegeterian forces I accept my omnivorous nature to not loose the deliciousness with that this world as well is made. So a part of my life is spent tasting good food and a little of that is spending preparing it. Honestly I think to be a decent cook.

Música, películas y libros

Im the kind of person that likes almost every kind of music and I with it I really mean that:
from the Qawali sung in Urdu to the turkish decent pop music (Sezen Aksu or MFÖ).
The metal of the Blind Guardian or Dream Theater is more near my taste but without italian singer-songwriter (Battiato, Gino Paoli) I'm lost.
Turkish folk music is a something I love not forgetting the turkish rock like the one of Yavuz Çetin.
The Opera is maybe a style that I never really explored

With Films I want to catch up a bit more some pearls of the history of the cinema, till now:

Algo increíble que he hecho

Some of the best trip I have done:

- Travelling in Georgia was so far one of the nicest trip I ever done, beautiful mountains and great people.

- While I was in Bavaria (Germany) in the mountain, I just start walk off-track going through the forest without seeing anything apart from trees for lots of kms up and down valleys feeling proud of myself having this kind of adventure all by myself;

Some crazy things I've done were:

-During my first solo-trip as I was 18 during my holiday in Puglia (South Italy) I've jumped from a cliff in the water feeling my self for a moment the greatest on earth!

-Cross the river of Berlin swimming in the night from the East to the West with some other stragglers with me.

-Cross the Canal de l'Ourcq in Paris side to side when it was completely frozen in winter,

Childhood most amazing experience:

- As I was child, maybe ten years old, one of the greatest experience I've had, was guide my family to a valley they didn't remember was there. I was the proudest being on earth in that moment :)

Enseña, aprende, comparte

TEACHING:

- I'm so happy to teach you some basic culture of my country, sharing the story, the traditions (and that means food as well!) as well the italian language.

- As I lived abroad and learned several languages, definetely my knowledge on German, Turkish, the little french and spanish I know and english of course and their cultures although between them I deepened in Turkey the most ;)

- The little I know about martial arts I'm happy to practicing with others: most of all I practice Kali philippino and Tai-Chi.

- I have basic knowledge of guitar and baglama and for sure we could play together and get some funky stuff out of it ;)

LEARNING:

- So far I feel still a beginner in languages and I would like to have a language partner to improve any of them so a nice talk would be one of the best possibility as well to can sharp my skills on language learning;

- Learning more about different cultures is always something that excite me. Learning what others experienced in their travel and so the adventures they have done is something I value and I'm eager to listen and discover to.

- Anything related about music is really food for thought and I would love to speak with people more expert than me with music.

- I like to learn new recipes of any culture;

- I would like to learn acting and speaking better, what kind of practice and work need to be done for it;

- Basically learning methods hands on with that I can organize better my life;

SHARING

- Have meaningful conversation, giving each other different point of views on a topic;
- Cooking delicious food together;
- Spending time immersed in the nature enjoying the green and the nice atmosphere;
-Laughing together telling each others funny stories;
- Philosophy on how improvings oneselfs life

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

I can share with my host my smile and my good mood towards life as well as time by chatting, exploring around, the pleasure of learning each others and all the knowledge I matured about life and humankind.

I can share the trust I have for a better future and the joy to be here to be able of work for it.
