About Me
Hello!
My name is Ernesto and I love Ice Tea.
After the most exciting two years of my life in Germany it's time to take a breath, come back to Mexico for a while and experience a new city... Currently, I'm living in Guadalajara.
I love music, beer and good talks listening to Jimmy Eat World.
My hobbies, well, I have a lot but mainly is going to gigs/festivals or just discover new music/bands (rock, indie, jazz and lately some electro). Sometimes sports, I played squash almost all my life, and I am training in martial arts. I play guitar and used to participate in an indie rock band in Guadalajara, Mexico.
I speak Spanish and English and I´m (trying to) learning German.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am new in the "old continent" and I want to feel how is the life in every place that I will visit and get out of the tourist things and look for the local experience.
I believe that if you want to know the best places and get out of the main scene ask locals.
Interests
Almost all my life I have been playing squash in a serious way. Belong that I like extreme sports like BMX and also is always good know some martial arts (I am learning Karate). Talking about the sport I can´t imagine my life without practicing some sports.
One of my favorites things in the world is music, doesn't matter if I am playing the guitar, trying to compose new songs or just attending a little gig or a huge festival, I am complete open-minded with all music genres.
Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite band is Jimmy Eat World, but I love almost all kind of music but my prefer is Indie, rock, post rock.
Talking about movies my favorites are: The butterfly effect, the perks of being a wallflower, the pursuit of happiness, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, 500 days of summer (yes, summer is a bitch and Tom is the most selfish dude)
I love to read and as a Latin-American I love Lat-Am writers like Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Mario Vargas Llosa, Carlos Fuentes, Julio Cortazar.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Quick my job, apply for a Master program in a country that I never visit and also I don't know how to speak his language sell all my stuff and take a fly to the undiscovered.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to teach my mother language (Spanish), also the sports that I know how to do mid-well like squash or BMX. If it is a court available we can always play some squash matches!
I like to play the guitar as much as possible and I like to sing while I am playing.
