Sobre mí

I consider myself a very curious person, always interested in learning about other people's experiences and looking for tips from them. I love getting to know about their culture and about the places they come from.
Lately I'm particularly interested in the cultures in the South Pacific and their history, on the one hand, and Scandinavian culture, on the other. I think they are fascinating and I would love to learn more about them.
I've been moving quite a bit the last 3 years and I've learned a lot of things about cultures I didn't know before and this has made me a more conscious person about the world we are living in. I belive that travelling surely changes a person, even if it is just a day trip, a month-long trip or living abroad for some time.
I know about myslef that I don't want to live in the same place at this point, I would love to move around and expore the world as much as I can while I'm able to. :)

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

A good way to meet people from different backgrounds and get to know things about their culture and about places I want to visit.
I've stayed in many hotels and hostels throughout my travels and everytime I arrive in one I am keen to meet the people who I'm sharing a room or a floor with, but most of the time you can't really get passed the small talk or the general suggestions that these people have for you. Couchsurfing, on the other hand, allows you to get to know people more deeply and have a meaningful conversation about the topics that interest you and them and about the experiences these people have had.
While at some points you might feel like you don't really want to socialise with the people around you or you just want to be left alone and do your thing without anyone bothering you, a hotel or a hostel is a good option, but if I decide to use CS in a certain city it is because I actually want to learn something from the people I stay with, and I want to know about the place that I'm visitng to get an experience past the "tourist" stage. Who knows, sometimes getting to know an insider's view of a city can be even more fulfilling than a travel book.

Intereses

Photography is one of my biggest interests, and thanks to it I have developed many others, that one way or another end up being linked to phogoraphy too. Immediately comes to mind travelling when I mention photography. I think I take my best photos the first time I visit a place. Through travelling I became littel by little interested in history and culture too. I realised that when I know something about the past of a place I'm visiting, my visit immediately becomes more enriching and I can appreciate it more. Learning about the culture of that place is also linked to learning about their history.
And finally, because you can't really develop any further any of these interests without one thing, I am very interested in languages. I have picked up some languages in the past years that have opened the door for me to learn more and explore more and I want to keep learning because the more I learn, the more I want to know.

If only it was easy to narrow it down to just a few... :D

Algo increíble que he hecho

Become the chief of a visiting group in a Fijian tribe
Hitchhike in New Zealand
Get my scuba diver's licence on the Great Barrier Reef
Dive with a shoal of sharks and manta rays in the Maldives

Enseña, aprende, comparte

Lately I'm very interested in the cultures of the South Pacific. The first time I visited this region I was marvelled by its beauty, its amazing natural landscapes and its friendly people. I want to teach other people about this area in the world, so that they become more aware of how incredibly beautiful it is and maybe even visit someday.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

I don't consider myself a cook, but I can cook many different dishes that I have learned from the places where I have lived. Spanish cuisine is absolutely delicious and at this moment it is my favourtie. I'm glad I can say I can prepare some of the traditional Spanish dishes, which I'd love to share with hosts.
I can also share my passion for languages and help anyone who is studying a language that I know. I believe that languages open doors to other cultures and places.
