I'm a midwestern american girl, attending university in the UK (up north), but I'm currently on placement year which has been an amazing opportunity to intern and travel around the world! I study fashion buying, but my long-term desire is to work for non-profits/NGOs. I'm on my fourth internship this year, first I went back home for a stint with the Girl Scouts, then to Brussels working for Fair Trade, then Washington DC for an apparel trade association, and now in Vilnius working for a LGBT* rights organisation! Then it's back to the UK for my final year, and looking to settle in Belgium after that, but who knows!

When I travel I like to get the real, authentic feel of a city, rather than just hitting the top tourists places, so it's always better to have a local to tag along with to show me the best spots! Of course, I'm always happy to do the same for others.

My favorite music changes all the time, but right now I'm really loving Conor Oberst/Bright Eyes!

For movies/shows, I've seen Gilmore Girls so much it's just constant background noise at this point, and I really love Paris Je T'aime, St. Elmo's Fire, basically any horror film filmed before they actually understood how special effects worked, and I'm sure others.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I've climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro! It was certainly the most difficult thing I have ever done. It taught me that I can truly get through anything if I'm determined enough and just keep putting one foot in front of the other. The great thing was it was done to raise money for clean water and sanitation for schools in southern Kenya as well.

I'm happy to do language exchanges, I like just talking about the differences between languages and their histories and families with people with different backgrounds! I'm a native english speaker learning french and spanish consistently, and there's typically one or two others floating around in my brain at a time as well that I'd be interested in learning more about.

I'm happy to learn whatever you're interested in! Hearing about something from someone passionate is always interesting, regardless of topic :)

Not much beyond a smiling face and someone to talk to! I'm happy to help out with cooking and cleaning and such, but I'm not too sure you'd actually want to take me up on the cooking...

I'm also pretty good at general housework: weeding, hanging things, fixing things, etc. I'm no contractor by any means, but I'm always happy to pitch in with the little things :)
