About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To fill in the map, between performances and rrrrreally real lyfe

ABOUT ME

performer/maker/teacher/etc. --- i've done a good deal of hosting and being hosted as a patron and producer of the arts. my skills as a guest and a host are sharp. I am a DIT(ogether) enthusiast and i try to stay resourceful and useful to the world as best i can. i live in a large collective space in Detroit --- and have lived in lots of weird and fantastic places with large numbers of people in the states. i try to stay busy working on creative projects, very willing to help out, and oftentimes effusively respectful of others --- i do my best to make sure i'm an incredibly easy and worthwhile guest ---

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

been offering up my couches for years now to bands, poets, artists, filmmakers and other surfers --- i'd like to continue through this community as much as folks demand (living in Detroit now///lived in Chicago, Milwaukee, Cincinnati, etc. prior) --- otherwise, maybe come and visit ya'll? Trying to get out of America as often as possible.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

again, i've traveled a good deal as a performer and surfed many couches. i've hosted events (readings/bands/films/etc.) in various homes throughout the past ten years or so and put people up innumerable times throughout. having lived in bigger places with more folks, i have had room-mates throughout the years who have maintained an active couchsurfing account and as a house we hosted travelers of all sorts from fun-loving party-people to research chemists, documentary film-makers, etc. who stayed for extended periods of time working on projects in the city (chicago at the time) or near --- sometimes the stay would resembled something of an unofficial 'residency', which was awesome. i would love to meet and talk about it, esp with those who have hosted a lot.... either way, this i believe gives me a foot forward on being an engaging and respectful guest --- having been through a number of weird enough experiences with folks in my own place, that i couldn't bear to do that that unto others. you know what i'm saying?!?!

Interests

everything honestly. sound (currently digging out old industrial and afrobeat records when i get to sifting --- but seriously wide taste). sights (from photo to street art/culture-jamming/collage/illustration), food (local, organic, slow, etc.), words (we host readings at our house currently and perform a good deal in the US), book-making, beer and cider brewing, fermentation, collectivism, zine culture, permaculture, gardening, tiny-house movement, foraging, diy/dit, homesteading, pedagogy, polyamory, paleo-contact theory (ancient astro --- fascinating!), poetics, performance, film, gender studies, political theory, cultural studies, sexuality, spirituality, and on and on.

arts, science (although mostly just in theory), politics, etc. i can have a conversation about anything... i'm a 'yearning for learning' type of person, i guess.
