Both for Movies and Books, clasics are my favorites.I try to stay away from popular culture :) but of course there are some exceptions.
I like movies of Michael Haneke,Rainer Weiner Fassbinder,Sergio Leone,Charlie Chaplin, Alfred Hitchcock,Francis Ford Coppola, Stanley Kubrick, Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, David Fincher, Christopher Nolan,Ingmar Bergman,Alejandro Amenabar,Fatih Akin,Nuri Bilge Ceylan,Metin Erksan,Jean-Luc Godard, Lars von Trier...
Some of the books that effected me deeply are Notes from Underground(Dostoyevski),Liebe deinen Nächsten(E.M.Remarque), One Hundred Years of Solitude(Marquez),Die Leiden des Jungen Werthers(Goethe), Martin Eden and Call of the Wild(J.London) ,Metamorphosis (Kafka),Calikusu (Resat Nuri Güntekin),Germinal (E. Zola), Earthsea (Ursula LeGuin)...
