About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Try to be a little less evil tomorrow
ABOUT ME
I've lived for a year in (voluntary) exile in NikÃâ¦Ã¡iÃâÃâ¡, Montenegro, trying to learn the language. I really hope not to forget what I've learned, now that I'm back in the plat pays. So travellers willing to speak to me in basic BHCS are even more welcome than all the others :) But anyone is welcome to send a request; I'll probably host you unless your timing is really really inconvenient.
One of my most negative traits probably is that it often takes a while before I relax when meeting people I don't know - but perhaps participating a bit more on CS is the ideal remedy(?)
PHILOSOPHY
"Even on the highest throne, you're always just sitting on your ass." (Montaigne, I think. But that's not important.)
Boring serious answer: I'm always fluctuating between Sartre and Gramsci. Modernist and contrarian. Trying to complete the pessimism of his mind with the optimism of the deed, failing most of the time. Sounds pretentious, doesn't it?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I try to be a good host, first and foremost, and to have a good time with my guests. But I'm also interested in getting first hand information about life, politics, culture,... in other cultures.
I (try) to use CS to explore the Balkans and to improve my linguistic skills.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted only a couple of times; I've been hosted loeads of times. All were good experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: depends on the mood. Tend to prefer indie rock, (non-turbo)-folkish things and mystic minimalism when I have to chose something myself. Damned, that sounds pretentious again... But I can enjoy all music.
Books: AndriÃâÃâ¡, Camus, Dostoyevski, L.P. Boon, Sartre, SelimoviÃâÃâ¡, Steinbeck,... I've always got a Yugoslav book with me, to keep up with the lingo.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Scared a member of the Belgian royal family out of his bed.
Teach, Learn, Share
I think I'm mainly here to learn, rather than to teach.
