About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Exchanging cultural experiences, improving the world one person at a time
ABOUT ME
I work at the government as an economist. I am quite fond of learning languages and cultures. I can communicate in many languages and I used to teach English and Dutch, so I am willing to help in that field also.
I admit that at home I am a bit disorganized, but when I visit people I do my best of course, don't feel shy to make remarks, I always follow them up. Mutual respect is important.
I am definitely not mainstream, often called a gentle anarchist. But I am not a big friend of -isms.
Belgians are not big talkers, I am not an exception to that rule. But when it's about my interests, of course I can keep talking.
PHILOSOPHY
I like to live in harmony, that is quite hard in a world of competition and greed, but at least I can try.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My house is still under renovation, so it is not yet suited for hosting people. Unless you are lost in Belgium and in dire need of a roof :) My house is also a bit in the middle of nowhere, the closest bus is a 30 minute walk.
I can certainly host a tour in Leuven, my native city, or Brussels, where I worked before. Leuven is a historical place with many interesting buildings. But it is quite small, so in one day you can see everything. Brussels is a bit larger, so be sure to tell me what you want to visit.
I can especially help people to find vegetarian resources. Usually that is no problem in Belgium, but to find the real good places or not to eat vegetarian spaghetti every day, you may need some advice.
