About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding our way in Birmingham and aspiring to be as well known as its local Tom the Train.

ABOUT ME

Elena and Miguel. Fun and easy-going Spanish couple. Not always dressed for flamenco dance. Two translators about to start an exciting new adventure in Birmingham. Despite what it may seem from our pictures, not lovey-dovey at all.

PHILOSOPHY

Despite being limited by two 23kg pieces of luggage (and having to bring winter clothes for 5 months with us), we've managed to fit 10 books in them. This express pretty much our personal philosophy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment, we are waiting to have our own (rented, of course) flat in Birmingham for the next six months. We would be more than happy to host anyone willing to discover the city with us. Until then, it is us who need a couch!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Miguel has such a vast couchsurfing experience that he once did billiard-table-surfing; nevertheless, his anti social network paranoia made him never to have his own profile. He claimed not to know the existence of this page until his brother showed him.

Interests

Films, books, music. Spanish beer, Guinness, whisky (and whiskey) and wine. Socializing. Tea. Baking. Pirates and dinosaurs. Doctor Who. Many other things in which we don't both agree, such as Nicholas Cage's movies.

Music, Movies, and Books

Since this list would be eternal, we will just include the last movies, albums, books and TV series we've enjoyed. When you meet us, you will have to guess who picked up what.
-The Runner of the Maze and The King's Speech.
-Kind of Blue, by Miles Davis and The Bluebird of Happiness, by Lotte Kestner.
-The Hobbit, by Bilbo Baggins and The Thin Man, by Dashiell Hammett.
-Utopia and Orphan Black.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of us wrote a book; the other one coped with it.
