Chi sono

CURRENT MISSION

Go from a workaholic to an Escaped Workaholic who's free to experience new activities and places while meeting new friends.

ABOUT ME

About me... Well, I grew up in a very small town in Ohio and didn't get the opportunity to travel (aside from a few mini-road trips to other parts of OH and western PA).

Moved to CT for college where I met very good friends (each from a different country and each with their own diverse background and experiences to share).

The first time I flew in an airplane was with Andrew (from my friend list below) who invited me to his home in Romania. What an amazing trip!!

PHILOSOPHY

Random philosophies in my head at the moment…
What ever you do in life, do it to the best of your ability.
–James McDougal

Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen); 1999 Graduation Speech
–Baz Luhrmann

I never believed in the rebellious statement of youth: “Let me make my own mistakes” and still don’t. Instead, I prefer to learn from other’s mistakes. This started from a very young age, when I would visit my grandmother and read the Quotable Quotes section in her Reader’s Digest.

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the places and moments that take our breath away.
–Anonymous

I reject your reality and substitute it with my own.
–Adam Savage (Myth Busters)

Keep your chin up. Hold your head high. Smile.

"Life is short, Break the Rules. Forgive quickly, Kiss Slowly. Love truly. Laugh uncontrollably and never regret ANYTHING that makes you smile."
-Mark Twain

Not sure about: Six degrees of separation
Theorem on friends and strangers. Would be interesting to really test it out.

Interessi

I especially enjoy active experiences (versus passive
events like movies or no-touch museums); here are some
examples of things I've enjoyed:
- horseback riding,
- boarded and learned about life on a wooden US naval
ship, "Old Ironsides", (went down into her hull, lifted
the cannon balls she fired and tried to lie in a
hammock where her crew slept)
- indoor rock climbing
- natural historic museums where you can hold and learn
about the past and present world around us.
- skydiving
- and many more.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

I'll come back to this.

Cosa posso offrire ai padroni di casa

I have met so many fantastic surfers that I've hosted, and incredible hosts who have hosted me!
(both through CS and another site)

If you're a host who is considering hosting me, it would be great to hang out, but it's also completely cool if you're busy. You'll find I'm genuine, respectful, and appreciative whether it's a spot on the floor for a sleeping bag (college crash style is awesome!) or what ever you have available.

I really appreciate that you're willing to host me, and any insights or places I should see that you share . If you're available, I hope you'll let me treat you to dinner, teach a new card game, an Argentine Tango lesson, or share some tasty dessert.
