Overview
About Me
Korean-American from Chicago, now in DC. My goal in life is to be more engaged with the world and less of an onlooker. I believe that we create ourselves everyday--it's not as easy as "finding yourself"--which is a great gift but greater responsibility.
Besides that...
Love food to the point of gluttony, like to think I'm up for anything, and am generally the annoying friend playing paparazzo. If you need new photos for your Kakao/Bumble/Facebook profiles, hang out with me!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
"I have always depended on the kindness of strangers."
Traveling makes you vulnerable, and being vulnerable opens you up to the incredible kindness of complete strangers, many of whom will go out of their way to help you. I am constantly humbled and reminded that human nature bends toward good.
Even if we never meet again, I will never forget you. You are now as much a part of the physical landscape for me as the Eiffel Tower or Andes, and whenever I think of that place, I will think of you. (So let's make sure it's a good memory, ay?)
Interests
I can wander all day through a place. It always feels like magic when you happen to discover something just by walking around. I'm trying to keep up with my running; I think it's one of the best ways to explore. Fighting writer's block and filling in the void by eating everything in sight.

Music, Movies, and Books

Growing up, The House on Mango Street had the biggest impact on me.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sunrise climb to the peak of Mt. Rinjani!
Teach, Learn, Share
Can help anyone who wants to obtain an ugly American accent or needs a new profile picture. Or we can run together, preferably with lots of eating right afterward.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm no cook, but I will do my best to make you a meal (coughbuyyouone) and provide good company.
