Overview
About Me
My name is Iain Escott, and I'm a consciously curious human originally from Toronto, Canada. Though a mechanical engineer by education, humans will always be more beautiful to me than machines and my life reflects this.
I suppose it goes without saying that traveling is a passion for me, just as it is for others in this community. Upon finishing university a few years ago, I backpacked extensively, worked in corporate and startup operations management for a few years in Canada, America, and Germany, and am now on a 4-month hitchhiking trip from Greece to China.
When I'm not chasing butterflies around the world, you *might* find me back in Canada - hiking, climbing, cooking, eating, singing, reading, dancing, or painting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting people and pushing my comfort zone by trying new things, and what better way to do so than meeting strangers from the internet! Needless to say, every experience I've had through Couchsurfing, whether hosting or surfing, has left me with a stronger sense of trust and a deeper understanding of the world. The real question is, why WOULDN'T I be on Couchsurfing?
