About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Figuring out how I can save humanity from its own.

ABOUT ME

My passion is travelling, and I am one of the lucky ones being able to work through my computer. The last years I've been a "digital nomad" (though hate the title) doing underpaid content commercial writing from all the corners of the world. In between travelling I may land in Sweden, but soon finding an urge to move again! I'm generally a lively and optimistic naivist, with the Sab Kuch Milega-view of life, all though this is hard to remember when you have to outlive the swedish winter with the cold and the darkness. I love travelling, and there's many places that holds a special place in my heart. I think literally there's no place I don't wanna visit, so I'm quite occupied for a couple of lifetimes ahead. I love history, it's been my main subject and I'm also very interested in everything that comes along with history; religion, culture, politics, economy etc. But I'm not all that serious and am also an addict to the arts with books, music and movies as my passion. I run around at concerts and festivals all summer long, and try in between to skill up in my guitar playing. I run a blog and will hopefully write my bestselling worldwrecking book next year. Unreligious Buddhism is my view of life, being present, being really really HERE. Loving kindness, a simple life. Love to talk, love to sing, love to engage in conversation with strangers, but can also stay silent for days on end while in meditation.

PHILOSOPHY

No boundaries, eternal love, there is ALWAYS a choice.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only wonderful! All the persons I've hosted and met through CS have made me richer and more certain that this is a great way of meeting unique, but also likeminded souls.

Interests

My interests are really not defineable, I think a lot of things are really exciting, not just the ones I study or the things I do on my spare time, but I'm also really fascinated about things I have no knowledge of. I love to hear people explain things to me that I don't really know, like how dimensions actually are defined, or how light travels or how a sound wave can be pushed around, or how to fill a root canal. Basically I'm a real nerd and just love to learn things and communicate with all kinds of people, preferably over a bottle of wine and some cheese. I'm really passionated about cheese. And wine.

Music, Movies, and Books

I had a period in my life where I watched about 2-3 movies a day, hence I have seen quite a lot of the classics but lately tend not to watch movies at all, since all that's coming out these days are remakes or sequels. I love European filmmakers like Kieslowski, Almodovar, Greenaway, Östlund, Malle, Bergman, Jeunet, Fellini, Godard, Herzhog, Tarkovskiy, de Sica, Scola, Rossellini, von Trier and yeah, it can go on and on. Though my favourite movie is probably Wes Anderson's The Royal Tenenbaums for a good many reasons!
I always read a lot and still do, these days highly Kindle-addicted and mostly political/cultural magazines like the Atlantic . Though, I mix it up with Nobel prize winners, trying to figure out their genious, and all the classics from the greats. Is War and Peace the best book ever written? I've also read Alice's adventures in wonderland a hundred times because it just captured me like nothing else as a child.
I can list a hundred favourite bands and albums, but it's easier to exclude music from my taste. I don't listen to whatever's popular, or on the radio. I like real instruments. I'm a grumpy old conservative craving the days of Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix, the early days of Springsteen, Waits and Bowie. Modern greatness comes mostly from blues/roots/rock/folk like Local Natives, the National, Dry the river, Albin Lee Meldau, Nick Cave, Bishop Briggs, etc. Mix it up with some good old 90s Britpop, contemporary London Grime and the two truth telling rappers Kate Tempest and Akua Naru then that's me. Oh, wait. There's nothing like a good old jazz gig!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can't really single out specific moments that are more amazing than others, cause that would be unfair to the rest of the things I've experienced which all has affected me and made me what I am today. I am eternally thankful that I did manage to get my ass out of Sweden the first time I went to India, cause basically, it changed me to the core. All the beautiful things I've seen and people I've met ever since then have all been equally important and given me so much insight I would have been blind to if it weren't for travelling. I think it's the best education you can have, to put yourself out there and just go go go.
