About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to learn all the languages, go to all the concerts, and meet all the people! Spread the love!
ABOUT ME
I'm a student. Music and traveling are my two passions in life - I love singing and I love people. I cherish random encounters with strangers more than most memories I have when I visit a new place. I'm a really happy person - I love people and I love the world!
PHILOSOPHY
I was with some friends pulling an all-nighter in downtown St Malo because we couldn't find a hotel, and we ran into a complete stranger - an old man drinking homemade absynthe. As weirded out as I initially was, we ended up having a pretty life-changing conversation about how the most important thing in life is human interaction. I'm so glad I talked to him instead of running away. Always keep an open mind!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm not sure how to answer this one...I want to travel and meet people, so couchsurfing seemed perfect. I really hope to host one day, I just don't have the resources right now with my student dorms/apartments.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've never couch surfed before! I'm hoping to have a wonderful story to put here soon enough!

Music, Movies, and Books
I really love most music. I promise. Some of my favorite classical composers are Mahler and Puccini, but I also adore Vampire Weekend, Belle and Sebastien, and various Bhangra music. As for books, if I read for fun it's most frequently Shakespeare. I'm a total Shakespeare dork (Othello is my current favorite). East of Eden and the Poisonwood Bible are other favorites. My favorite movie ever is the Sound of Music, but other top choices are Amelie, Persepolis, Rang de Basanti, True Grit, Rocky Horror Picture Show, and many others! I'm always up for a good (or terrible!) horror movie as well.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Just so you know, it's very hard to decide ONE thing to put here! For now, I'll say visiting Panja Sahib in Pakistan. I'm not necessarily religious, and I'm not sure many people will know about this place, but there's a legend that a Sikh religious figure stopped a rolling boulder once (a bit much, I know, and I'm sorry for oversimplifying this story) and his hand print is still on this rock. A little temple was built around this place, a few hours outside of Lahore. I don't know what it was about this place, but something was very special about it. Even if I don't exactly believe the legend, there was something calm and beautiful about this place. I was only seven years old, and I still think about going back frequently. This is a long story, but the point is, I have a blurry little picture of me with my hand against this hand-print, and I still value and remember that experience more than any other I've had.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you everything I know about opera! Also, I grew up in an Indian family and I've been living in France for four months, so I love talking about cultural differences. I also love baking, so I'd enjoy sharing recipes or making a meal with/for you!
