关于我

CURRENT MISSION

surfing couches, many many many couches

ABOUT ME

I German / Iranian, 35 years, studied first at Oxford University and then in Paris at Sciences Po and the ESCP - first Portuguese and German Literature and then International Relations + Economics and Finance and have been living now in London for 6 years. I work with the stock market concentrating on global emerging markets. I am very interested in cinema and literature, but also in current affaires, I am a good cook : ) - , I am very considerate and obviously very interested in culture. I am most of the times a pretty happy person, like to see people around me happy, have a strong sense of justice and don't like injustices, exploitation and senseless consumerism or waste. I like electronic music but also quite a lot of jazz and chanson - Vladimir Visotzkii is perhaps one small reason why I have recently ended up deciding to learn Russian. I like going out, am definitely a sociable person and don't smoke. I like living healthy which means I don't smoke cigarettes, and that I go jogging every now and then, I am clean and really like flatshares as a concept of living and sharing a home - I have been living in flatshares in London, Paris and Lisbon for the last 10 years because I like it : ) It can be a real joy and often my flatmates grew into my best friends in the places I have lived in and still are. I guess flatshares and couchsurfing is pretty comparable. As I said, I am learning Russian at the moment which I very much love ! and this is where I live at the moment ...and I would like to meet Russian people to understand this culture better and who can help me practice my Russian, too in patient moments of theirs because my Russian still sucks very very badly. I hope that gives you a little idea of who I am.

PHILOSOPHY

the only thing I can think of is a very very intricate philosophy I have developed myself when I was 14 or so. "there are cool people and bad people". I know that sounds already revolutionary. But it goes on. I mean, there are cool teachers, cool bus drivers, cool lawyers, cool cash clerks, cool janitors, cool presidents, cool ministers, cool kids....and there are bad kids, and bad presidents, and bad eco warriors and greenpeace activists, and bad social workers, and bad lawyers and bad teachers and bus drivers, bad poor people and bad rich people.... You get the point. It's good or bad that defines people - nothing else.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am very happy to show people London or meet up with them when I am travelling.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None, except for running into couch surfers all the time when I go out.

兴趣

quite a lot. I actually find virtually everything has an interesting side to itself. this is why sometimes, I go to magazine stores and buy a random magazine - I mean there are thousands of magazines out there, for every one a special magazine - garden freaks, metal freaks, quilt freaks, jazz freaks, remote controlled car freaks, DIY freaks, outdoor freaks, climbing freaks, running freaks, ....you name it. There is a magazine for everything - and buying one of them, and reading just one issue, lets you dive into their own little world for a while - what bliss !!! ...very interesting.

音乐、电影和书籍

some of my favorite books include: Into thin air, The Road, Tauben im Grass, Spaetestens im November, Nachtzug nach Lissabon, Saramago's Blindness, Touching the Void, The End of Food, The Shadow of the Wind, Out Stealing Horses, I like Nietzsche and Thomas Mann - Buddenbrooks is outstanding, Narziss und Goldmund, the Outsiders is awesome - wow, Last exit to Brooklyn, Love in the time of Cholera, ...

Films - Some of the films I liked and that I can think of include Burnt by the Sun, Kieslowsky's Dekalog, Night Sun, Chaos, recently the White Ribbon, Little Dieter learns how to fly, Grizzly Man, My architect is nice, Geliebter Feind, Nil by Mouth, Big Lebowsky, Mesrine, Man on Wire, War of Fog, ...

Music - a lot of electronic stuff, jazz, some modern composers such Ludovico Einaudi....a lot. I love music and I love dancing but somehow music has never meant to me as much as books and films - so right now, I can't think of groups I like listening to...well, let me see, in no specific order: Lars Danielsson, Leczek Mozdzer, Tomasz Steinker, Vladimir Visozkii, Depeche Mode, Jacques Brel, all kind of revolutionary song - not sure why, but they really do it to me, Kraftwerk of course, Monitor, Whitest Boys Alive, Placebo, Moodyman, Lindstrom, Trentemoeller, Zoot Woman, Modernist, Ursula Rucker, ...

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

....let's have a few beers and we will find out about amazing things we have both seen and done.

教,学,和分享

Ok - the single most interesting thing I have learned is this:

http://www.tomatis.com/ If you take the time to take in what it says here, perhaps you will also find it fascinating. If not, I can perhaps tell you all about it when we meet.

Generally a good website for finding out interesting things is the Ted.com --- very good, in case you don't know it yet.
