About Me
My name is Esme Fabry and I come from Adelaide, South Australia.
Firstly - I love to travel. It is my passion. I have travelled frequently during my life, and learn so much every time. I love to meet new people! I find it so exciting to learn about people's lives and cultures. I travelled across South-East Asia and Europe for most of last year. This year I am going to Japan for a month in November!
I am 20 and currently work at a little organic vegetable shop in the Adelaide Hills. I love working there because I love to support local businesses and organic produce. I have several regular customers who I love chatting with, and I am also very close with the other staff members. I also work as a babysitter looking after children of many ages. I have worked in a child care centre and absolutely love working with little ones! I have just completed a semester of Midwifery at Flinders University which was amazing but not the career for me. I am planning on studying psychology next year.
I am so excited to explore beautiful Japan and meet amazing people. I would love to be exposed to authentic Japanese culture and learn as much as I can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on Couchsurfing because I am really interested in learning the culture of countries through the locals. I would love to be able to see how people live in different places so I can learn about tradition and culture differences. I also love meeting new people and making friends, no matter what age/culture/religion or background. I am also travelling for a long period of time on a budget, so Couchsurfing would be a fantastic way to save some money.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
An amazing thing I have done was feed 500 hungry Vietnamese people living in poverty with healthy, vegan food.
I worked as a volunteer for a vegan restaurant in Danang called Karma Waters. They aimed to help a charity every month to battle poverty. It felt amazing to be a part of something so selfless.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As I mentioned previously, I love to cook! I would be extremely happy to help with cooking meals for hosts. I am also happy to help around the house with cleaning and maintenance. Through my work at Organic Market I have learnt many skills in cleaning and organisation. I am a very flexible person who is willing to learn.
As well as this, I am very good with children. I have worked with babies and children throughout my life. I have had experience babysitting and working in a child care centre. I adore playing and teaching children and would be happy to take care or help out with little ones.
I am also able to help with language as I speak fluent English and am learning French. I would be happy to help hosts or hosts families learn English.
I am happy to learn any new skills as well. I generally pick up things quite quickly, and am eager to help with whatever you need :)
