About Me
CURRENT MISSION
trying to win, trying not to sin
ABOUT ME
i'm from LA, live in SF but dream of a life spent in paris.
rome was my gateway drug.
i would like to think i am as street as i am books. i come from a rather large (and loving) mexican family. they are all a few hundred miles away so i try and surround myself with friends that embrace a loving, accepting familial culture.
urban planner by day, dinner party attendee by evening, music enthusiast and concert goer by night, bruncher by saturdays, school teacher by sunday mornings. enjoying life at all hours.
i’ve survived (in no particular order): a train wreck in the us of a, laryngitis in denmark, salmonella in the netherlands, food poisoning in indonesia, pick-pocketing in belgium, cyber hacking in tunisia, and a bomb scare in france. i’m impenetrable!
my life is a music video.
PHILOSOPHY
to quote the great philosopher and by philosopher i mean rapper, clearly:
when's the last time you did something for the first time?

Music, Movies, and Books
music: everything! including but certainly not limited to: 90s gangsta rap/g-funk (i'm from LA, remember?), r+b, 60s soul, neo soul, electroclash, worship/gospel, indie pop, new wave, chillwave, post wave, tidal wave, all kinds of wave. i stay wave, trust.
movies: mona lisa smile, stand and deliver, legally blonde, devil wears prada, city of god, anything with gael garcia bernal and diego luna as well as most indie and foreign films...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
it is hard to point out just one amazing thing because i think many moments in life warrant such a classification; however, when i visited the vatican, i tried pretending i was one of the japanese diplomats that were allowed into the sala regia. needless to say, my efforts were futile and i was respectfully escorted out but i at least got to see the room where the pope is elected. which is ordinarily only reserved for the papacy, and in his absence, the college of cardinals though i quickly learned they will make exceptions for japanese diplomats, apparently. the aurora borealis' splendor at 35K feet over scandinavia was a whole mood, but witnessing the sun setting over the amazon was a moment.
Teach, Learn, Share
i want to learn anything you are willing to share with. i try and stay learned at all times.
i can school you on how to be a G. can also school you on some slangy slang.
