Hey!

I'm Evan.

I currently live on beautiful Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

My life has been a pretty fantastic and inspiring adventure so far. I just want lots of great stories when I'm old and grey, and I'm off to a great start!

Right now I'm working under my mentor and close friend Tom (www.natureschef.ca), learning a lot about foraging, preparing, and enjoying wild food and medicines in the Pacific Northwest.

Learning about all that our beautiful Earth has to offer us is my biggest passion right now, and I'm so grateful I have amazing friends and resources helping me along my path each day.

We have a lot of fun bringing folks to our space and sharing our crazy ferments and wild foods which we cook over fire in a traditional teepee. It's an unforgettable experience and there's no greater joy in life than serving others. :)

When I'm not hunting mushrooms and picking berries, perhaps you'll find me searching for fresh spring water, or doing yoga, or maybe just soaking up some sun on the nearest rock (I'm SUCH a lizard).

I really, really, love life. I've been working my ass off for many years so I can say that honestly!

Community and developing a relationship with this beautiful planet are the most important things in my life. I love bringing people together, sharing ideas, stories, and celebrating this beautiful life.

I LOVE to learn new things. Being so passionate about so many things, I always seem to find a way to connect with people on some level. I always have a book, podcast, video, or whatever on the go. Always signed up for the next workshop, course, or seminar. I just want to be improving every single day of my life. It's incredibly important to me to feel like I'm ALWAYS upgrading my life.

I'm just so grateful to be here every single day, and am eternally thankful services like this exist. I've met some great people through Couchsurfing and am so excited to meet many more beautiful souls who offer up their homes selflessly!

Interests

I'm a musician, and love to jam, share music, and learn new instruments. I'm a lefty when it comes to guitar, so it's always a struggle just picking up and playing while I travel.

I thrive when connecting with people. Sharing stories, experiences, perspectives, and opinions is important to me. I believe in a life of constant learning, whether it is history, nature, sciences, or philosophy, I am an eternal student and am constantly expanding my knowledge on a many topics.

I try take care of my body, mentally and physically. I am a child of the sun. I spend my days outside, swimming in the ocean, jumping off of cliffs, making my own medicines, and howling at the moon ;).

My music tastes are extremely diverse. Please share the music of your country with me and I'd be happy to do the same.

I'm a big fan of non-fiction books and documentaries. I love being inspired by stories of real people, taking bits and pieces from their lives and applying it to my own. I study a lot of classic and ancient philosophy as well. Anything that helps in the expansion of my conscience.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I biked from London, England to Athens, Greece when I was 15 years old.

Helped build a plant medicine retreat centre in the jungle mountains of Colombia.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a registered Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga teacher, and would love to teach you some postures and flows!

I've completed two 10-day Vipassana meditation retreats. This has been the most profound technique I have ever used and would love to share the basics of meditation with you.

I could teach you a bit about wildfoods, fungi, and wildcrafting depending on your locale.
