About Me

ABOUT ME

Always overwhelmed at the number of interesting people in the world. And travelling is the best way to meet them.

I started travelling a lot more these past few years, and I will not let an opportunity of seeing a new place pass me by. I love travelling in cities, maybe because I'm from tiny Denmark, and experiencing different cultures in their concentrated form. But I am a also romantic who dreams of seeing all the world's most beautiful natural sceneries, of hiking through cliffs and deserts. What I love most, however, is the magic of encounters, and the people that suddenly appear in your life, always bringing new perspectives. That never ceases to excite me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

There is no doubt that you always get a better experience of a new place when you are staying with locals. This makes me really want to explore the world of couchsurfing!

Right now, I am in California for work for a few months, and at the end of May I will be travelling up the coast before flying home from Seattle.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have yet to actually surf someone's couch but I have met nice people for coffee through the site.

I have had travellers stay at my place too - I know that Copenhagen is an expensive place to be a tourist, and will be happy to help you out, though it may depend on my schedule.

Music, Movies, and Books

When literature is your profession, everyone always asks you about your favourite book - my usual answer is "The Waves" by Virginia Woolf. But of course the truth is, its impossible to choose just one book.

I love cinema as well, I tend to fall for literary and poetic films, and one film that I never get tired of watching is Alain Resnais' "Hiroshima mon amour".

Music: The Smiths, Belle and Sebastian, Grizzly Bear, Beach House, David Bowie. And a lot more.

Also, I am a podcast/radio addict.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Flying into El Calafate, Patagonia, watching the snow-topped Andes rise from the horizon after flying over empty, yellow pampas for hours, looking North and seeing the mountains stretch on without end, then landing next to the most turquoise of turquoise lakes I have ever seen. Unreal.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook! And I can tell stories. And anecdotes about all sorts of weird stuff I heard on podcasts (constantly listening).

Oh, I can share with you my theories on Scandinavian mentality - this one tends to come up when someone points out that Danes are the happiest people in the world (although we just lost that title to the Swiss).

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Greece, Japan, Mexico, Montenegro, Norway, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Canada, Denmark, United Kingdom, United States
