About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Contribute to making the earth smaller

ABOUT ME

Travel is probably the most effective and fun way of learning, and I certainly have not done enough of it. Sun, warm oceans, and even warm rain seem to suit my body much better and that's why I live in Hawaii. Even being a couch-potato or just reading a book are somehow more memorable...

"A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving" [Lao-Tsu]

PHILOSOPHY

"The first person to benefit from your act of kindness...is you" [The Dalai lama]

Compassion for all-things-living seems to be the antidote to fear and apprehension. Learn something new. Listening is more useful than talking. Be-here-now: holding on to bygones is not helpful.

"Forgiveness means giving up all hope of a better past"[Landrum Blling]

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I believe CS contacts allow a local perspective not available from tourist books. I intend not only to host when I Can, but also be available to Hawaii travelers for information, references, and "can't miss" places while visiting the Islands.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to CS, but so far I've hosted 4 wonderful people, one from Spain, another from France, a third from Colombia, and fourth from Prague. Most much younger than I...but as I found out, expansive and meaningful interactions seem to have no age boundaries...

Interests

Eating healthy and local. Growing things in my farm and being closer to the earth. Noticing how temporary everything is, and what unbelievably small tolerances are required for life to exist. Seeing "ordinary magic" every day. Movement ...yoga, hiking, snorkeling, kayaking, roller-blading, meditating...activities that renew and expand the body/mind/spirit connection.
