About Me

Hi there!

My name is Esra, I'm 19 years old and I live in Belgium. I enjoy dying my hair vibrant colours since I think it's important to give colour to the world around you any which way possible.

Like any other youngster I like music, reading books and watching films or horrible reality tv. My great passion however is theatre. I feel most free when I'm on stage or in a rehearsal studion and like Lady Gaga put it so nicely (altough I'm not a Gaga fan): I live for the applaus.

I'm full of wonder and always curious to learn about people or places. I like to wander around, discover, be bored and discover some things more.

My motto in life is: expect the worse, hope for the best, because either way life will turn out just fine.

I realise that my profile may not stand out above others, especially since I have don’t have much experience couchsurfing yet, but I want change that as soon as possible! If you have any questions feel free to pop in a message and I will be happy to answer to you :).

*PLEASE READ*
The only reason I'm not hosting is because I live with my parents, two brothers and a little sister. It's not that I don't want to host, it's just that it's really not my decision who stays and doesn't stay in our house. Apart from that it really wouldn’t be comfortable either...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Staying with locals is in my opinion the best way to get out of your comfort zone and really see the place you came to see. The world is in dire need of some social contact and I think this is a great way to start.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy watching documentaries. Lately I have been fascinated with docu's about crime and justice (mainly Netflix-series), such as 'The Ted Bundy Tapes', 'Evil Genius' and 'Making a Murderer'.
Otherwise I love documentaries about history, or some laid-back tv-shows, like 'F is for Family' or 'One Punch Man', anything at all on a rainy day off.
As for books, I have recently adopted the habit of reading two books at the same time: one fictional and one non-fictional. I read a lot while I travel but when I'm at home working or studying I don't have as much time for it as I would want to.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Mainly company. I'm not a very gifted cook or hilarious entertainer, but I'm always up for a conversation, a gentle stroll through the park, a movie-night or any activity whatsoever. I keep tidy when I'm in a place that's not my own and in general I'm not very interested in partying or drinking as I have an alcohol intolerance and these things tend to lose a lot of their appeal when you're the only sober person around. I also don't mind chipping in for groceries or treating you for coffee, since low-budget traveling really isn't my main reason for using CS.
