About Me

Hi there! I'm Estefanía (Spanish for Stephanie, please feel free to use whichever you find easier to pronounce ;)) and I'm a Spanish-born girl travelling around the world! I love spending time speaking other languages and meeting other people both abroad and at home.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm quite new to CS but I must say the idea sounds fascinating- hosts and surfers exchanging life experiences, life dreams and sometimes even languages!

Interests

I love travelling and meeting different people, learning languages and getting to know other ways of life. I adore exploring the outdoors but also enjoy staying indoors reading a good book and having a warm brew, especially in cold weather. I am a sunny person and love to make others smile as well-- travelling is also about the people you meet and the conversations you have may change you forever.

My motto in life is to enjoy every single moment we can. Life is best enjoyed when we realise that someday it'll come to an end- that's why we need to ensure we are making the most out of it, every time.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all sorts of music, especially Japanese pop, classical and soundtracks. Although I’m also totally fine with chart music and often listen to it on the radio too.

I watch the odd film from time to time but I prefer Japanese anime or Disney films, though I’m happy to watch anything that makes me laugh or gives me food for thought.

I’m currently going through a period in my life where I’m trying to read as much non-fiction as possible because I really want to improve myself. I would say I’m a good example of what a perennial learner looks like.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Flying solo to Tenerife on the Canary Islands at 19. It was also my first time on a plane!

Exploring Edinburgh and the Scottish Highlands on my own.

Gathered the determination, courage and money required to visit the country of my dreams— Japan!

Securing what I believe is the best job in the world, which allows me to have the best views everyday, to travel nonstop and to get to know loads of different people and cultures... you’ll have to ask me to find out more!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I enjoy cooking different types of food from all over the world (including traditional Spanish dishes) and would be glad to share some good memories around the table.

I can also teach you some Spanish or English as I'm a qualified languages teacher myself or even true local experiences I have had in my two home countries— Spain and England.

I love smiling and making others smile. Sometimes all we need is a good conversation and a good laugh, and I would be very happy to provide you with both!

I would also love to hear all about yourself and your town/language. Learning is one of my favourite hobbies and I’m always very curious about everything so please do share with me everything you know and love!
